On September 1, 2027, five mustangs will begin a journey across America.
In every state, Fifty Shades of Bay will bring together a 50-mile awareness ride for America's wild horses, community storytelling, and a five-day horse-centered Healing Intensive designed to help people rediscover trust, courage, connection, hope, and purpose.
Because sometimes the life we knew changes.
Sometimes the path we thought we were on disappears.
And sometimes moving forward begins by realizing we can’t go back to who we were before.
There are thousands of mustangs living in holding facilities across America, waiting for what comes next.
There are people doing the same thing.
Fifty Shades of Bay was born from the belief that there is something powerful in bringing those two journeys together.
A mustang removed from the wild cannot simply return to the life it knew before. It must learn to navigate a new world without losing everything that made it who it was.
Human lives change too.
Loss. Trauma. Depression. Anxiety. Failure. Unexpected endings. Sometimes life leaves us standing in a reality we never chose, wondering what we're supposed to do with it.
Maybe healing isn't about going backward.
Maybe it's about learning how to move forward.

THE ROAD TO 50
The expedition begins September 1, 2027.
… But where do we begin?
Fifty Shades of Bay will travel across all 50 states, creating a moving invitation for people to encounter mustangs, hear their stories, participate in the journey, and discover what these horses may still have to teach us.
Each state is built around three experiences:

A community gathering and documentary screening opens the conversation.
Before asking people to care about the mission, we invite them to understand where it came from.

The Original Five carry the mission for 50 miles in every state.
Members of the public will eventually be invited to participate in portions of the ride as routes, safety requirements, horse welfare, and logistics allow.
The exact trail may change.
The purpose doesn't.

After the ride, Fifty Shades of Bay plans to host a five-day immersive Healing Intensive for a small group of participants.
Through horses, facilitated experiences, reflection, community, and time away from the noise of ordinary life, participants will be given an environment in which to do their own work.
The horses do not fix people.
Neither do we.
We create the environment, provide the tools, open the doors, and walk beside people while they discover what moving forward may look like for themselves.
